NEW MUSIC VIDEO DROPS FOR GUNSHIP

One of the most unusual & fun edits I’ve worked on recently.

Thank you to GUNSHIP and director Corin Hardy for inviting me to collaborate on this companion piece to Corin’s latest horror film, WHISTLE: a music video for GUNSHIP’s brilliant cover of Time After Time, which features in the film.

I love the throwback feel of this, to the days when films had proper companion music videos. Given the nostalgic DNA of both the film and the track, it feels completely earned.

Editing this was unusual because, visually, there wasn’t actually a great deal to cut. The video uses the beautifully conceived extended version of the carnival one-shot that was filmed for WHISTLE (a shorter version appears in the finished film), with just a couple of additional shots at the beginning and end. Most of my work was about shaping the music to fit the picture - making sure every beat, lyric and emotional shift landed in exactly the right place, while weaving around the dialogue moments throughout.
